At that time, Nitra was already well known in the field of translation studies both in Slovakia and abroad thanks to Professor Anton Popovič and his colleagues from the Institute of Literary Communication at the former Pedagogical Faculty in Nitra.

Students of our Department have once again tested their translation skills in cooperation with an international film festival

It is no secret that the world of film and audiovisual translation has become very popular at our Department, not only in terms of research but also training. Every year, future audiovisual translators from our Department benefit from a unique opportunity to test their skills in practice. The last time they did so was during the preparation of the last year of the popular international documentary film festival One World. They helped with the translation of subtitles, promotional materials, but also the creation of subtitles for audiences with hearing impairments. Several of our students and graduates, as well as by translators who regularly visit our Department as part of their ongoing education in audiovisual translation took advantage of this enriching opportunity.
